air pistol bench rest?

I have just acquired a couple of nice air pistols: Daisy 777 match pistol
and a Feinwerkbau Model 65 (they belonged to my father in law who passed
away about 10 years ago). I have checked them out, and they seem to be
working fine. But - I'm not steady enough to be able to sight them in
properly. I know there are all kinds of bench rests for rifles designed
for that purpose, but I've not found anything about pistols. I'm in the
process of cobbling a rest together, but there must be an easier way.

Any information very gratefully received. BTW - I was able to find an
operating manual for the 65 online, and Daisy sent me one for the 777.
After a few days of practice, I'm able to keep about half the shots in the
black at 25 feet - seeing improvement almost daily.

How deep of a hole do you want to dig in your wallet? Loads of shooters
simply make sand bags and use them on a bench, or other suitable platform.
If you just have to have a purchased item, look in a Midway, Brownell's or
Cabela's catalog. Or look in their on line stores.

I was really looking for something a little more stable than the sand bags
- more along the lines of the bench rests they use for rifles. Since then
I've done a little 'rest' which fits on my B&D Workmate - it seems to be
fine. I also have several homemade bags my wife put together for me using
bulk rice and legs from some old Levi's, so I guess I'll muddle through.
Anyhow, thanks for the pointers. Since I have three pistols I'll be
fiddling with, I ordered a Shooting Chrony last week - should be
interesting.

BTW the deep hole probably starts shortly. I went to the local Airgun
Field Target shoot yesterday, and I think I'm hooked. So currently
thinking about an air rifle.
