Need Recommendations On Where To Surf in CA

Hi all, I did some preliminary Google searchs for this but couldn't find anything helpful. I'm a very new to surfing. I've surfed maybe 5 times over the past 12 years or so. In early June, I am taking a trip to California and driving down the Pacific Coast Highway between SF and LA. I have allocated 2 days to stay somewhere and surf. I do not have my own board so I have to rent. I would prefer to surf someplace where the water is warm enough to not require a wetsuit (though I do have a good resistance to cold). The exact dates will be June 2-3. Nearby, reasonably inexpensive lodging, is also a definite plus. Any suggestions would be greatly helpful. Thanks.
