| Why ICC will help IPL |
By arranging just 1 T20 match every 3 months, ICC has ensured that the pent up demand still exists next year too. In a typical tour, there are four test matches, 7 ODI's and one T20 match. Thats really fucked up scheduling considering the demand Also, Daniel Vettori will even for a brief moment will think about the amount of money he has lost because he has to play some really really stupid First Class Match against some useless county when he could be bowling to some real class players trying to hit against his spin |

Not everyone likes the circus. The reality is that the players want to do both, and in the future they will probably be able to do both without being double-booked. In the meantime, the poor results achieved by the returning IPL players in NZ's warm-up match against the useless county Essex seem to indicate that they need some more time to acclimatise to local conditions, which is why they have been required to turn up in England in good time to adapt. Anybody who says the players don't need to acclimatise and/or that playing T20 is a useful warm-up for Test match cricket has some vested interest affecting their judgement (money in the case of the players, trolling for Roshan). Vettori bowled eight overs in two weeks at the IPL. Andrew |
