| Invader as first yacht |
A friend has asked my opinion as an Invader (bilge keel) as a first yacht. Comes with a tidal mooring on the South Coast for 600 quid a year. I am a bit out of touch with this type, but seems quite nice. Inboard 10hp diesel. Any opinions from UKRS?. |

The 22 is a nice floating caravan and won't scare anyone, but equally it's not going to set the world on fire to windward.. -- Andy Breen ~ Not speaking on behalf of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth Feng Shui: an ancient oriental art for extracting money from the gullible (Martin Sinclair) |

I must have missed something there, but from memory one big advantage of the Invader is that it has standing headroom which is amazing in a 22 footer! TonyB > > |

It's a rather Snapdragon sort of a thing (ISTR the was a design relationship). A friend of mine has one. I'll ask him for advice/tips on the type (probably on Tuesday). -- Andy Breen ~ Not speaking on behalf of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth Feng Shui: an ancient oriental art for extracting money from the gullible (Martin Sinclair) |

A chap called Geoff Richings has restored one and keeps her on the Axe at Uphill, taking her out to sail on the Bristol Channel. His website detailing the restoration and his various trips since can be found here: http://www.geoff.rich.btinternet.co.uk/index.html I'd point your mate at it if he wants a taste of what he's setting himself up for. Geoff Richings seems to have done a lovely job on restoring his, and would appear to be quite happy with her as a first yacht.
