However you do die a lot slower wearing a life jacket. It kinda creeps up on
you.

Not if the inflator fails. You go straight across the Stix.

You really are out of order.

Are you judgmental of ukrs posters' religions?

Why mention 'Styx' (sp) ?

Where do Muslim's souls go? Or Hindu's? Or Buddhist's?

Heaven protect us from well meaning (but totally stupid) comment.

Retract, you idiot.

that is clear Keith, a major warning.
I will never purchase a Lidl lifejacket with this lack of safety.
Of course the very fast Dutch lifeboats will pick you up before the
inflator has reacted, but you never know.

I think you'll find that it was crossing the Styx which led to Hades, not
just going to it. If course, crossing the Styx without a life jacket could
be dangerous if the boatman tipped you overboard for not paying him.
However, where those who drowned for a second time in the Styx went, I can't
imagine. To spend eternity on URS perhaps?

I don't understand your criticism, Keith, it seems out of order.
In fact, it comes across as "well meaning (but totally stupid)"
in a way which Martin's does not.

I can see no way his comment can be construed as judgemental of
anyone's religion, but if you can, please feel free to explain.

When one looks across the Styx from the land of the living, there
is, I understand, no sign on the other side stating that landing
is prohibited to souls adhering to particular religions.

The Styx is of course a feature of Greek mythology, but despite
it having been later adopted in some literature as a feature of
Christian hell, anyone mentioning the Styx today would not
generally intend a connection with Christian hell, and certainly
not with an exclusively Christians-only hell.

But perhaps I'm mistaken. What do I know?

Take your own medicine, I am sure Martin was referring to STIX, not
Styx. You see STIX is a measure of craft stability, and if your
inflator fails, you probably won't have any stability. If you are so
sensitive, I suggest you go back to your padded room.

In this, the one "out of order" is yourself.

> Are you judgmental of ukrs posters' religions?

No, he's not.

> Why mention 'Styx' (sp) ?

In an allusion to classical mythology, in this instance Greek mythology.
Crossing the Styx is a reference to dying, the transition between these
world and the next.

> Where do Muslim's souls go? Or Hindu's? Or Buddhist's?

Or indeed Christian's. I tell you what, you prove to me the existence of
an immortal soul and I'll give the matter of where it goes some serious
thought. Until then, lets treat all the sky fairy stories as a pointless
waste of time to soothe the fears of the stupid who cannot face life
without some form of mental crutch.

> Heaven protect us from well meaning (but totally stupid) comment.

Heaven doesn't exist, HTH.

> Retract, you idiot.

There's only on idiot here, and that's the one who seems to thinkt hat a
reference to the Styx in some way denigrates other religions, but a
reference to a Christian Heaven does not.

Oh that's a bit too general, I am sure we can rustle up more than one
idiot on this newsgroup, it used to be a regualr nut house. (And all
the more entertaining for it)

Cosmetic surgery has come so far. I must say, though, it does look nice,
especially with that polished finish. Did you have it done to avoid the
sagging later in life, or was it because the Mk1 was not so pleasing on
